Mystic Lake Casino Wedding Photos
It’s time to share some of Shanye and Lyndsey’s awesome Mystic Lake Casino wedding photos with you! These two were married on Saturday, July 14th at Mystic Lake Casino. The location was the beautiful new Mystic Lake Center on the west side of the complex.

Mystic did a fantastic job with this massive addition. It overlooks The Meadows at Mystic Lake Golf Course and is very well appointed without being over-the-top like some casinos can be. With the right lenses and some added lighting, it was a pleasure to create their pretty wedding photographs there!
It Was A Hot One!
Joannie and I arrived in the bridal suite and got to work getting images of Lyndsey and the girls getting ready. While I was scouting out a place for all of the formal photos to be taken, Joannie captured a lot of fun images of the girls, including this very cute photo of mom and grandma with Lyndsey. Super cute!

Shanye and Lyndsey had their hearts set on having many of their Mystic Lake Casino wedding pictures taken outdoors. But Mother Nature had other ideas. That Saturday was “Absolute July”. Mostly sunny, extremely hot, and very humid.
So rather than melt all of the men in their black suits, wilt all of the pretty flowers, and turn the girls’ makeup and hair into mush, we decided to stay inside the Mystic Lake Center before their wedding ceremony. We would venture out into the heat once they were married.
First Look and A Whole Lot More!
Upon further investigation, I chose the large open area of the Mystic Lake Center as the main area for all of their Mystic Lake Casino wedding photos. It also would do very nicely for Shanye and Lyndsey’s first look too!

After their first look, we captured many, many great wedding photos of the future Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt, their wedding party, and their families. The area that we used was so nice and large that I could use a long lens to capture almost everything!

I love the way the background looks when using a long lens. Most indoor locations simply aren’t big enough for me to back up that far. No problem here.
Da Boys!
Going Wide, Very, Very Wide
So that we had some variety, and because we can, our first whole wedding party photo was done at the other extreme of our lenses. Our ultra-wide Canon EF 11-24mm f/4.0L USM! The more I use our newest lens, the more it amazes me!

It’s crazy to think that I can stand so close to a panoramic scene like this and get it all in. All with minimal distortion on the edges. It’s nothing like our Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye with the outer edges all bent (which can be a pretty cool effect too).
A short time before their wedding ceremony, their adorable flower girl, Samantha, arrived on the scene after her nap. We had the wedding party “upstairs” when she made her appearance. Samantha’s arrival was an instant show-stopper!

So we took the last of the family photo with the little lady and well as a few really cute wedding photos with Lyndsey too. What a little doll!

As you might have guessed by now, we’re going to do more than one installment from this terrific wedding! We hope you’ve enjoyed this “Part One” of Shayne and Lyndsey’s Mystic Lake Casino wedding photographs.
Part Two will follow in just a few days! As well as what we hope will be yet another cool light painted wedding photograph that hasn’t even been started yet! Our fingers are crossed on that one as there were some real challenges that came about when we attempted to create it. Can you say millions of mosquitoes?
