Rush Creek Wedding Reception Photos
After sharing Sam and Taylor’s Spirit of Hope wedding photos the other day, we now have their Rush Creek wedding reception photos ready for you to enjoy too! There are even a few outdoor wedding photos despite the frigid January temperatures!
Immediately at the conclusion of their wedding ceremony, Joannie & I quickly packed up and headed to Rush Creek to get some of their pretty reception decor photos before their guests arrived. The plan was to be ready for their arrival and get some outdoor wedding photos of the wedding party before the sunset.
Baby, It’s Cold Outside
After capturing the reception decor photos, I waited (inside) for the bus to arrive. At this point, I had a just a coat and gloves on. After getting a quick couple of photos of the wedding party on the bus, I decided to go back to the car and get my heavy-duty winter parka. What a good call that was!
The wedding party unloaded their belongings inside Rush Creek and prepared for some outdoor photos right before the sunset. I knew that this would have to be done quickly as the wind chill temperature was hovering around -20 degrees. We “got the shots” and sent the wedding party inside to warm up.
In the days leading up to their wedding, Sam and Taylor told us that they wanted a sunset photo if possible. So on their way back inside, we stopped to capture it for them. Taylor was all nice and toasty in her cute winter cape. But Sam (like Joannie, the videographer, and myself) was freezing! We worked very quickly and inside we all went. It took at least 15 minutes before my fingers warmed up, and I was wearing gloves!
We all were quite happy that the rest of Sam & Taylor’s Rush Creek wedding reception photos would be done indoors!
The Grand March
Sam and Taylors’ Grand March was the next of the Rush Creek wedding reception photographs on the schedule for the evening. The wedding party had a lot of fun with their entrance, probably not as much fun as Sam and Taylor had. These two U of M graduates and marching band members entered with a football and Paul Bunyan’s Axe!
What a fun and exciting way to get their wedding reception off on the right foot! A great dinner, several toasts, and the cake cutting followed. But there was much more to come at this fun wedding celebration.
Dancing With The Stars?
Sam and Taylor’s first dance was not your normal first dance. It indeed started out that way, but it quickly turned into a very entertaining choreographed number that our newlyweds did a great job of pulling off.
Not to be outdone, Taylor and her dad also danced to a fun choreographed dance! Then Sam and his mom danced to a famous song sung by none other than Kermit The Frog! All of that pretty much tells you that this was going to be a fun wedding dance!
U of M Marching Band
Once the dance was underway, Sam and Taylor made their way upstairs to the balcony to lead their fellow U of M Marching Band members and other alumni in the singing of “Hail! Minnesota”. There was obviously a lot of U of M pride in the room!
We hope that you’ve enjoyed Sam and Taylor’s Rush Creek wedding reception pictures as much as we’ve enjoyed sharing them with you. But we’re still not done sharing from this great wedding! We have another of our one-of-a-kind light painted wedding photographs that should be completed in the next few days.
In the meantime, thank you for reading our posts about Sam and Taylor’s fun wedding day and we hope that you have a great one! – M&J
