The wedding day highlights from Max & Laura’s Cannon River Winery Wedding reception, dinner, and dance.
Last Sunday, Joannie and I had the pleasure of being the wedding photographers for Max and Laura. Their wedding ceremony was held at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, MN followed by their very pretty Cannon River Winery wedding reception, dinner, and dance.
Originally, their wedding ceremony was supposed to be held at the very scenic Cannon River Winery Vineyard. But if you recall, last Sunday was the wettest day you could possibly not ask for. We stayed hopeful that we would indeed have a wedding at the vineyard, but Mother Nature had other ideas.
That was really a shame because we did pay the vineyard a very short visit for some wedding photos of just Max & Laura (see above) under a much-needed roof. We found out that it’s really a great wedding location that would have been even better if we could have gotten out and away from that roof. I’m just glad we were able to stop there even though it was only for about 10 minutes.
On To Plan B
The forecast was really looking bad all week long and so earlier in the week plans were made to use St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church as the possible rainy day backup location. Due to the never ceasing rainfall on Sunday, it went from being a backup plan to “the plan”.
While not the same as a beautiful vineyard, it was dry and it still made for a very nice wedding ceremony. We also did all of the family and wedding party photos there after the ceremony too.
After their ceremony and wedding portraits concluded, we set off to their very cool Cannon River Winery wedding reception, dinner, and dance complete with live music from a very talented Jazz band. What a great band! Everybody had a really great time!
Max and Laura, while it wasn’t a perfect day weather wise, your wedding was perfect none the less. Congratulations on getting married and thank you for asking Joannie and myself to be your wedding photographers!
