2014 Blizzard Photographs!
Well, since Joannie won’t let me move to Hawaii (not yet anyway), I decided to take the “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” road with this awful winter weather we’ve been having.
So on Friday afternoon I set out to capture the “beauty” that last week’s winter storm had to offer with some blizzard photographs.
I must say that I kind of enjoyed just grabbing a camera and doing something spontaneous, not something I do nearly enough that’s for sure. I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful “artwork” the storm left behind and not not pleasant or surprised by how frozen I was at times because the wind was really howling.
I was also impressed by how Mother Nature can throw her weight around when she wants to and there’s nothing you can do about it (as I found out driving to photograph a wedding on Saturday morning; the roads were still really awful)!
I had a couple of surprises along the way, the biggest being stumbling across a bevy of trumpeter swans on some open water (the open water itself was a surprise) and as I was coming home in the dark a nearly ran over a rafter of wild turkeys (too dark too photograph unfortunately).
So here’s a little something I put together to help us to remember the Winter of 2014, which I would actually like to forget right now until about December. Hope you enjoy “Blizzard Photographs of 2014”!
