GRANDPARENT ANNOUNCEMENT! Joannie and I will celebrate our first grandchild sometime in late September or early October! Nice!
Yes, we will be the two youngest grandparents on record! That’s going to be my story and I’m sticking with it! As of today, Jen and Ben have given us the ok to tell everyone their great news!
It’s been a difficult time for Joannie not being able to tell anyone (also my story), as we were made privy to the awesome news way back on Friday, January 25th!
Michelle was the first to find out earlier that week and she set out with her sister to figure out a cute way to tell us! Due to all kinds of weird circumstances, every way they wanted to get us all together, I messed up for them. Finally, it was decided to meet at Michelle and Ben’s (that would be Ben “2”) place and all of us would go out to dinner!
Jen and Ben came over and we all drove together to Ben and Michelle’s place and we were greeted with this upon opening the door!

Very cute! We had a great time sharing the news and giving dad a hard time about nixing all of their plans that night, but in the end it was lots of fun just getting the baby news! We had dinner at P.F. Chang’s at Southdale to celebrate as a family! Yummy.
Many of you know me as and call me “Uncle Mike” and I’m working on my new name combination. It could stay that way or be any one of the following:
“Uncle-Grandpa Mike”
“Grandpa Mike”
“Grandpa Uncle Mike”
Or my personal favorite: “Best Grandpa EVER!” (there is the possibility of somebody else having that title, so we’re checking that one out).
Anyway you cut it; Joannie and I are thrilled that this little one will be coming into our lives! In about four years many of you know what this will mean for Joannie and myself. The MVP’s after the World Series and the Super Bowl say it best. “We’re going to Disney World!”
