Volvo A40G Articulated Hauler
Time for another light painting of yet another cool piece of heavy construction equipment! This time it’s a Volvo A40G Articulated Hauler! This thing is so cool looking! I found it near our daughter’s neighborhood, just asking to be light painted. So I did!

A Quick Word About This Dump Truck
Here’s what I could come up with about this cool piece of construction equipment. The Volvo A40G Articulated Hauler is a 30.7-ton machine with a Volvo engine that powers this model with up to 350kW or 469 horsepower. This particular Volvo articulated dump truck belongs among the biggest machine segment in the articulated category. The model’s dimensions are 9.559m x 3.433m x 3.597m. Nope, not your ordinary dump truck!
What a Cool Looking Rig!
This bad boy was, as I mentioned, just asking to be light painted. At the time, I didn’t have anything like this in my heavy construction equipment list, so I really wanted to create this one. Growing up, I remember seeing trucks like this and thinking that they were pretty awesome! Little did I know, that years later I’d have the chance to take a look at one, and photograph it, up close!
I took the liberty of removing the homes in the background by placing big dirt piles in front of them. Yes, I have light painted dirt piles for this very purpose! The sky was pretty boring that night, so I added a sky that really compliments this cool dump truck perfectly!
