Springtime Family Portrait
I’m pleased to share a nice springtime family portrait with you. A couple of Saturdays ago, the Bilski family dropped by our Portrait Park so that we could create some nice family photos for grandma.
We’ve known the Bilski family for many, many years. Joannie and I have photographed family weddings, other family portraits, as well as high school senior portraits for them over the years.
A Picture Perfect Day
That Saturday was a glorious day weather-wise, with temps in the mid-sixties and gentle breeze. When you consider the goofy spring weather that we’re having and the fact that we scheduled their springtime family photographs way back in mid-winter, I’d say that we really lucked out just being able to be outside!
As I do for any family portrait session that I photograph, I created images of each individual family group as well as the whole family. Oh yeah, and a nice portrait of grandma too (above)! It was awesome to get out of the camera room and back out into our Portrait Park once again in 2019.
Since the leaves on the trees were barely starting to show, I used our large evergreen trees as the backdrop for their springtime family photos. Thankfully we do have pine trees in Minnesota.
The Grandkids
After creating a couple of different versions of the whole family, I asked them what grouping they would like to do next. I thought it was very cute when grandma spoke up immediately to request a photograph with her grandkids. As a fellow grandparent, I can appreciate her desire to have that family portrait created. That “grandma’s request” photo is below.
Wrap It Up
Now that the nicer weather is (nearly) here, it’s a good time to remind everyone to have your family portraits taken. There is never a bad time to do so. Just do it. You’ll thank yourself later.
Speaking of family portraits, we still have a couple of openings on our annual North Shore Weekend coming up on Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th on Lake Superior. Give us a call at 763-785-1177 to find out more.
