Spring Wedding Photography
In the first of our pretty spring wedding photos from 2017, I had the pleasure of creating Rajendra & Alayna’s wedding photography at the beautiful Hindu Temple of Minnesota in Osseo, MN. What a unique location for a wedding! Alayna and Raj especially loved the huge gold entrance doors (below) on the west side of the Hindu Temple.
Raj and Alayna’s wedding ceremony was really beautiful. They included many Hindu traditions and several family members were involved throughout their ceremony.
Some of the Hindu Traditions They Included
- Jaimala, which is a wedding ritual in which the bride and groom put fresh flower garlands into each other’s necks. The wedding ceremony is not just the meeting of two souls but is a union of two families, a merge of traditions, values, and customs that make the entire wedding complete. The Jamila or also known as ‘Varmala’ is an ancient tradition which has been practiced and followed ever since Indian weddings originated.
- Kanyadaan is a popular Hindu ritual in which the father gives away his daughter in marriage to the groom. It is a highly valued Hindu marriage ritual. Kanyadaan literally means ‘gifting a girl.’
- Gath Bandhan (Tying of the Nuptial Knot). The scarves placed around the bride and groom are tied together symbolizing their eternal bond. This signifies their pledge before God to love each other and remain faithful.
A Stunning Outdoor Spring Wedding at Olympic Hills Golf Club
Here we have many more pretty spring wedding photos! Just days before summer officially arrived, Joannie and I photographed Derek and Zlata’s gorgeous, spring outdoor wedding ceremony at beautiful Olympic Hills Golf Club in Eden Prairie, MN.
As you can see in the pretty wedding ceremony photo above, the setting for their wedding ceremony photographs was truly beautiful. The weather sure cooperated too with a nice overcast sky. Although it did rain quite heavily during their pretty (indoor) reception, it was a picture-perfect day!
A Stunning Light Painted Wedding Photo
Thankfully, it did stop pouring long enough for us to do something totally unique for them. We really hit a home run with their stunning wedding photography light painting, created in a light rain during their wedding dance.
It was one of The Best Wedding Photographs that we created all last year because it got us totally psyched to do more wedding light paintings! And we certainly did! More on that coming up in our best summer wedding photographs post in the days to come.
Below is a very short video that shows all of “the pieces” that go into a light painted wedding photograph. Enjoy, and thank you for reading our blog post!
