McKenna’s Eagan High School Senior Portraits on our 20th Annual “North Shore Weekend”!
A “reproduction” of an image I took of McKenna when she was a little girl!
Let’s begin with McKenna’s stunning senior portrait above. This image is a “replica” of one of the portraits of McKenna that I created at the Como Conservatory when she was a little girl about five years old. Joannie & I created this senior portrait at Lester River Park in Duluth, our first stop after leaving the Duluth aerial lift bridge area in Canal Park.

Lake Superior photography was very challenging last weekend. We had a nice overcast sky each day, but very high winds on Saturday, Sunday & Monday. Monday added in some “wind chill” to the mix with very cold temperatures too. We spend that day bundled up and indoors most of the day.
On Saturday, McKenna shared her Lake Superior photography session with James & Alli. James & Alli were up on the north shore for their engagement portraits. We’ll be sharing their very fun and entertaining north shore story and pretty engagement photos in the days to come.
For several years now we’ve been doing “dueling sessions” during our “North Shore Weekend.” This allows us to make one trip from Duluth to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park while creating portraits for two clients at the same time. This is a huge time saver and maximizes the photo opportunities for both clients. While one is changing clothes (or watching), the other has their portraits were taken. Sometimes we even “recruit” them to helping hold a light stand or a reflector when needed.

There’s A Little History Here
Joannie & I had the honor of being the wedding photographers for McKenna’s parents, Dave & Julie, back on June 29th, 1991! They’ve been loyal clients and have become great friends for all these years since. I’ve photographed McKenna, her brother Kyle (his 2013 senior portraits can be enjoyed right here) and the whole family (and also the family pets) every year since they those two kids were born! They truly are Clients For Life and Joannie & I really love these guys!
Several years ago, both of our families even went on a Disney Cruise together totally by coincidence! They love Disney as much as we do!

Since McKenna’s on the Eagan Swim & Dive Team, it was only fitting to get some water in some of her senior portraits. You can’t find much more water around here than in Lake Superior!
