Church of Saint Columba Wedding Photos
After sharing Linh and Dang’s Tea Ceremony story a couple of days ago, it’s time to move on to the next day and their pretty Church of Saint Columba wedding photos. It was a beautiful Friday afternoon, warm, mostly sunny, and more importantly, no chance of rain.
Joannie and I arrived early at the church to get set up. As I was setting up our gear, Joannie captured some nice wedding candid photos of the singers practicing, and some the wedding decor.
A short time later, Linh, Dang, their families, and the wedding party began to arrive. Their wedding guests also began to arrive about that time as well. Joannie also captured some fun images of the wedding party’s final preparations just before the ceremony began.
The next Church of Saint Columba wedding photographs you’ll see are of the wedding processional. As it was time for these two to get married!
While much of the ceremony was spoken in Vietnamese, it was pretty easy to understand what was going on. It was really nice to be a part of something so meaningful to Linh and Dang and so rich in traditions from their ancestors.
Everybody In The Pool!
Upon the conclusion of their ceremony, everyone was invited out to the front steps of Saint Columba for a group photograph. I really enjoy creating shots like these at weddings. It makes sure that you have at least one photograph of each person who attended your wedding.
To do it well, you need steps to pull it off well so you can hopefully see everyone (if they aren’t hiding), and Saint Columba has them. Since it was pretty sunny out, I pulled our two WITSTRO MoLight AD360II-C’s on light stands out on the sidewalk to help me get light into everyone’s eyes.
After the big group photo, it was back into the sanctuary so we could get Church of Saint Columba wedding pictures of the priests, their families, the wedding party, and of course, Linh and Dang.
Since we don’t speak Vietnamese, it was a bit crazy at times, but thankfully a couple of the family members helped translate our posing instructions for us. I’ve included many of those portraits in their highlight music video below.
Much More To Come
We hope you’ve enjoyed the sneak peek from Linh and Dang’s wonderful Church of St. Columba wedding ceremony. In a couple of days, we’ll be sharing a lot of fantastic wedding photographs created at their beautiful wedding reception held at The Van Dusen Mansion in Minneapolis, MN.
We also will be sharing one of the coolest light painted wedding photos that we’ve created to date! It’s not even completed yet, and it’s already amazing!
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and we hope you have a great one! – M&J
