Landmark Center Wedding Ceremony
Today, I’m very pleased to share some of my favorite images from Bruce and Anna’s October 10th Landmark Center wedding ceremony. Their actual wedding ceremony was held in The Chief Justice Courtroom at Landmark Center.
Much of their wedding day was also held at my favorite wedding venue in the Twin Cities, The Saint Paul Hotel. They got ready, had their first look and portraits taken in the garden, and more photos on the Grand Staircase. Then, after the wedding ceremony, their pretty wedding reception was held at the M St. Cafe at The Saint Paul Hotel. As always, Mary Jo Maloney and her staff did a wonderful job for Bruce and Anna. Mary Jo is the best in the business! Period.
The Weather Makes Such A Difference
It’s hard to believe (now that winter is here a couple of months early) how wonderful that Saturday really was! Not only did these two kids get married, but, from a weather standpoint, it was one of the last nice days of fall too! Yes, it was a little on the cool side, but there wasn’t any wind at all, which made it very comfortable outside. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky either!
Bruce’s First Look at The Saint Paul Hotel Gardens
Shortly after I arrived at The Saint Paul Hotel, Anna and the girls met me in the hotel lobby. We had decided earlier in the week that their first look would be in the hotel garden if it was nice outside, and it certainly was!
I brought Anna to the hotel garden and Bruce was then notified that he could come down to the lobby. Upon his arrival, he was lead outside to see Anna by one of his three daughters, Alysia. Then the fun really got started!
After their first look, I created several photos of our newlyweds and a few fun family portraits with their kids. Their kids were the wedding party, so I guess you can say we created wedding party photos there too! It was still a couple of hours prior to their Landmark Center wedding, so I had time to create.
Wedding Photos in Rice Park
One of the best things about having a Landmark Center wedding ceremony is all of the great photo opportunities literally right outside the front door! There’s the aforementioned Saint Paul Hotel, the James J. Hill Library, the world-famous Ordway, and the wonderful Saint Paul City Park right in the middle of all four of them, Rice Park!
We mosied across the street to the newly remodeled Rice Park. The stunning fall colors were on full display and I took full advantage, lighting our cute couple and their wedding party with a pair of high powered strobes to balance everything out.
Bruce and Anna asked if it would be ok to take a couple of photos with the statue of Herb Brooks that sits right across the street, so we took a little stroll to see Herbie.
We wrapped up our pre-wedding photos with pretty wedding photos on the Grand Staircase at The Saint Paul Hotel. Then it was time to head over to the Landmark Center so these guys could get married!
Bruce and Anna’s Landmark Center Wedding Ceremony
Upon our arrival at The Chief Justice Courtroom, everyone helped decorate and get everything ready. We had a little time before their wedding guests were to arrive, so we captured some pretty wedding photographs out in the atrium at Landmark Center.
Once their wedding guests started to arrive, I took candids and posed photos of the festivities leading up to the ceremony. Then it was time.
Anna and Bruce’s good friends, Susan Brewer and Eric Nelson would preside over their sweet and intimate wedding. After their first kiss as husband and wife, rather than just walk out, Bruce and Anna introduced everyone along with stories about where and when they became friends with each one of them. Very nice!
A social hour followed and at its conclusion, everyone met on the first floor for a group photo. One with masks on and one without. A true sign of the times.
Wedding Reception at the M St. Cafe
After the group photo, everyone walked over to The Saint Paul Hotel for a wonderful cocktail hour followed by dinner at M St. Cafe. The perfect ending to a perfect wedding day!
A big thank you to Bruce and Anna for the opportunity to be your wedding photographer! I enjoyed spending the day with you and meeting your great kids and friends. I wish you two the very best! I’m looking forward to creating a very special wedding album for you in the months ahead.
The Movie
Oh yeah, there’s one more thing. I’ve put together a cute highlight music video with many of my favorite images from your wedding day. I know you’re going to love it! Enjoy! – Michael
