Hidden Falls Engagement Portraits

The Hidden Falls Engagement Portraits of Andy & Crystal

In the wind!

Hidden Falls Regional Park is a unique St. Paul city park located next to the Mississippi River kind of across the river from Fort Snelling. It’s very “tucked away,” so much so that you’d never know it was there unless someone tells you about it. Hence the name “Hidden Falls” I guess.

It was less than a week ago and it was also about 70 degrees ago too! Yes, early last Saturday morning it was 18 degrees outside and there was a strong wind making it feel much, much colder than that. In fact, we started their Hidden Falls engagement portraits on the shoreline of the Mississippi River and we had to leave that area soon afterward because it was making our eyes water too much from the cold wind! Burrrrr!

When we were out of the wind it was actually pretty decent out. They even took their coats off for many of their portraits even though there were icicles on the rock formations by the falls.

Pretty nice out when you’re out to the wind!

The Importance Of Engagement Portraits

One of the big reasons that an engagement portrait session is so important, besides getting nice portraits to enjoy and share, is that we get to know each other a little bit before the wedding day. It’s a great way for me to see who’s a blinker and who’s not, find out if someone is on the shy or outgoing side, and to just be more comfortable knowing each other a little more before the big day.

Well, I can tell you that Andy is not going to be very shy on their wedding day.

Goofin’ around.

Andy is a wrestler, and I’ve found that most wrestlers are not the quiet types and in fact are usually the opposite. Andy, also known as “Tank” & “Big Kahuna” by his friends, should be quite a bit of fun when the wedding day rolls around. I’m really looking forward to it. I’m pretty sure that he’ll have Joannie laughing throughout the wedding day too!

Aren’t they cute!

As I often do, I’ve put together a little highlight music video together showcasing many of their Hidden Falls engagement portraits and a few short video clips that will give you a pretty good idea as to the fun we’re all going to have in September when these get married! Enjoy and have a great weekend! -M&J
