Corey and Ashley’s Fall Stillwater Engagement Portraits
This blog post is all about Corey and Ashley’s pretty fall Stillwater engagement portraits created on a perfect late fall afternoon in Minnesota. It turned out to be an unseasonably warm Thursday evening. I wore a jacket when we started and took it off a short time later, it was that perfect outside!
As I almost always do for my on-location portrait work, I had Lightning McQueen with me as my lighting assistant. I’d say that I used Lightning on most of Corey and Ashley’s fall Stillwater engagement portraits. But it was an unusual portrait session from a light standpoint, the natural light was actually pretty good at times. So good, that I didn’t use extra lighting on all of their portraits. But when I did use it, Lightning didn’t let us down, all of their engagement photography turned out awesome!
Corey and Ashley brought different outfits along, so they changed it up every once in a while. Corey also brought his Harley Davidson motorcycle along. We have a separate blog post on that because the Harley was there so we could do a light painted engagement portrait!
As we were walking around downtown Stillwater, MN, it was starting to get dark. That’s great for light painting, but not so great for “regular” engagement photos. So we closed out their “regular” session at the Saint Croix Boat & Packet building in their leather biker jackets. Pretty cool! That’s also where we decided to light paint the Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Corey and Ashley will be getting married next October at the beautiful Leopold’s Mississippi Gardens in Brooklyn Park, MN. I’m pretty certain that that will be one very fun and pretty fall wedding!
I’ve created a short highlight music video from some of my favorite images from Corey and Ashley’s fall Stillwater engagement portraits. I hope you enjoy it and thanks for taking the time to read this post. – M&J
