1969 Dodge Daytona

Light Painting a Rare 1969 Dodge Daytona

Here is another beautiful one-of-a-kind light painting, this time, it’s a 1969 Dodge Daytona! This is one fine automobile! I met the Daytona’s owners, Perry and Cindy, at Motorhead Madness in Duluth, Minnesota back in March. They reserved my services at the show to create a light painting for them sometime this summer.

Well, the opportunity arrived, and we took full advantage! Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve created two separate one-of-a-kind artworks of all three of their beautiful vehicles!

Here’s the setup image. We just had to let it get dark out.

I was supposed to light paint this amazing car a couple of weeks ago. However, rain pushed it back a week. Instead, I created an amazing indoor light painting of their other two beautifully restored vehicles! A cool blue 1936 Ford Sedan and a truly amazing 1927 International Wrecker! Below is that beautiful light painted image!

A Rare Dodge Daytona

You might ask, what makes this fully restored 1969 Dodge Daytona rare? This Dodge Daytona was built on May 29, 1969, and was #42, of 503 built. Perry’s father, Mel took delivery on September 12, 1969. Mel bought it for his wife, Barb, as a birthday present. It is believed that this 1969 Daytona is the only one in existence that still belongs to the original owner’s family.

All of the parts on this car are original (except the plug wires, hoses, and battery). The Daytona has all matching numbers and even all of the glass is date-coded and original. The complete restoration was done from the factory build sheet.

It features an E86 440 C.I.D 375 horsepower engine, with a D32 Torqueflite automatic transmission, and power steering. This Daytona has an S15 Hemi suspension and a full Charger Rally instrument cluster as well. The Dark Green interior features bucket seats with a console.

Even the Daytona’s engine bay is amazing!

I can tell you firsthand that this car is really sweet! Everything, even under the hood, is immaculate!

Here’s the finished one-of-a-kind light painted artwork of this amazing car!
