Saint Mary of the Lake Wedding
Last Saturday, Joannie and I had the pleasure of creating Mike and Linda’s Saint Mary of the Lake wedding photographs. I’ve been looking forward to their wedding day ever since I photographed their engagement portraits at Rotary Nature Preserve in White Bear Lake last fall. These two are a super-cute couple and both of us are very excited to be their wedding photographers!
No Rain (or Snow)
For a really nice change of pace, Mother Nature cut us some slack. Yes, it was on the cool side, but there was no wind, and way more importantly, no rain (or snow)! Because of that, many of Mike and Linda’s beautiful Saint Mary of the Lake wedding photos were created outdoors.
As wedding photographers, it was so nice to be able to create wedding photos outdoors (and not freeze) for a change. The last time we were able to “play” outside for an extended period of time at a wedding was at Amy and Brandon’s wedding in October last year (and it snowed that day). After the winter we just had, that seems like two years ago!
The First Look
As I mentioned, because of the decent weather, many of their Saint Mary of the Lake wedding pictures could be created right outside at the church. Mike and Linda would also have their first look outdoors as well. It was a really sweet moment and very fun to witness up close.
Were able to create some wonderful bridal portraits of Mike and Linda, all with the pretty church as the backdrop. We followed that with a lot of great photos of their wedding party right there in the front yard at St. Mary of the Lake. The wonderful soft overcast sky made for ideal photography conditions, and we took advantage of the opportunity.
It’s Who You Know
We moved indoors for the rest of their wedding photos of family and friends. Mike and Linda are very involved at Saint Mary of the Lake. So many of the “who’s who” at the church were asked to take part in their wedding. So it was very appropriate that we get photographs of all of them too. I’ve included many of those wedding photographs in their highlight music video that you can check out at the bottom of the page.
Upon completion of the many family and friends photos, Mike and Linda were married by Father Ralph Talbot in a wonderful wedding ceremony filled with great readings and music. With their beautiful wedding reception at Dellwood Hills Country Club still to come, this was just the beginning of their fantastic wedding day!
Much More To Come
We’ll be sharing those wonderful Dellwood Hills wedding reception photographs in the days ahead. We will also have another stunning, one-of-a-kind light painted wedding photograph coming your way too! Below is a sneak peek of the light painting spot I selected (wait until you see the finished artwork).
In the meantime, take a few minutes to check out their cute music video (below) with many of their Saint Mary of the Lake wedding photos.
Thank you for reading our post and have a great one! – M&J
