Rogers High School Senior Portraits of Karina taken in Duluth, MN and on the North Shore of Lake Superior.
As mentioned last week in our last few blog posts, our 2014 “North Shore Portrait Weekend” on Lake Superior was a big success! We had three fun high school seniors, some portraits of each their families and an awesome engagement session in there too! It was our 19th Annual North Shore Portrait Weekend and it was great fun for everyone up on Lake Superior in 2014!
This blog post is about Karina’s 2015 Rogers Senior High School senior portraits.
Karina shared her extended senior portrait session with Patrick and Brittany. They were up north for their engagement portraits! Karina’s parents, Steve and Ingrid both made the trip up north as well, so we slipped in a few family portraits when we arrived at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park.
Joannie and I had the pleasure of capturing Steve and Ingrid’s wedding photographs back in October of 1992!
Doing two portrait sessions at once is a little trick we began using last year. We do two portrait seasons at the same time allowing us to use the cool areas in Duluth as a background twice in one day. Otherwise, there simply wouldn’t be enough time in the day to travel back and forth from Duluth to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park two times. It works super well. While one is changing their outfits, we work with the other. It’s also a great way to make some new friends along the way too!
Senior Portraits In Duluth, MN
Karina’s Rogers Senior High School senior portraits on our North Shore Portrait Weekend begins in Duluth, MN at the famous Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge. We’ve got some cool images of Karina on and around the world-famous icon.
After we finished in the Canal Park area, we all began the trip towards Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. But before we left Duluth, we made a quick stop at Lester Park for some very pretty images right there in the woods near the Lester River.
Senior Photos At The Secret Beach
Karina’s senior pictures on Lake Superior continue on with all of us moving on to a brand new North Shore location for us. It was Karina’s parents, Steve and Ingrid that told us about it, it sounded like a great spot, so we followed them there.
I still can’t remember the name of the place (because of that, it’s now called our secret spot), but it sure is pretty and kind of secluded too. While the pull off on highway 61 is not really very well marked, and it’s more of a boat landing than a park when you pull in, there’s a lot more to see and explore once you look around the trails there. It’s a wonderful photo spot right there on the big lake! I know it will be part of our portrait itinerary in the years to come!
Senior Pictures at Split Rock Lighthouse
Once we finished there, we were off to the Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. The Split Rock Lighthouse, we’ve been told, is the most photographed icon in all of Minnesota! I know that Joannie and I have played a part in that total over the years! That’s why we’ve been making it the main site of our annual North Shore Portrait Weekend since 1996!
We created many of Karina’s senior portraits in many different locations right there on the shores of Lake Superior and on several occasions with the Split Rock Lighthouse in their background. While we were there we also took several family portraits too! What a great day!
We hope you have enjoyed this small sampling of Karina’s Rogers Senior High School senior photos, the images with her parents and her music highlight video as much as we enjoyed creating it all for her and her family. Thank you, Karina, Steve, and Ingrid for making the trip up to Lake Superior and for asking Joannie and myself to create your senior and family portraits for you. We really enjoyed seeing you guys “up north” and very much look forward to showing you the rest of your fun portrait images when we get together very soon!
