James & Alli’s Engagement Photos on Lake Superior!
James & Alli will be getting married this upcoming December 5th at The Wilds Golf Club in Prior Lake, MN. They made the trip “up north” as part of our 20th Annual “North Shore Weekend” to have us create their fun engagement photos on Lake Superior.
As we mentioned in our last blog post about McKenna’s senior portraits on Lake Superior, the soft overcast sky was great, but the very windy conditions made it rather tough to keep your clothing and hair in place. Heck, at times it was even tough to hold the camera steady too!
James & Alli shared their engagement session time with McKenna while we all traveled from Duluth to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park, stopping at multiple photo spots along the beautiful shoreline of Lake Superior. We call it “dueling sessions.” It allows us to cover more ground in one day with more than one client at the same time. It’s a great way to meet new people and have some fun together too!
Engagement Photographer on Lake Superior
Engagement photos on Lake Superior are so much fun! It didn’t take long to find out that James has his hands full with Alli (kind of like Joannie does with me)! She’s quite the fun character who claims that she’s not crazy about PDA. Also known to us engagement portrait photographers as “kissing in public.” I’m not so sure about that because it always brought a smile to her face (and James’ too) and she seemed to really enjoy it after a while!
It was really funny to see her start to giggle whenever we asked them to kiss; often times during the kiss; and pretty much every time after they’d kiss. Sometimes I would just ask them to kiss just so we could watch their reactions! I love my job!
As most of you know if we photographed your wedding; kissing is a big part of the day for us photographically. So this was a good “warm-up” for James & Alli for their upcoming wedding day photos. They did a great job during their engagement photos on Lake Superior and I know they had fun too!
Duluth Engagement Photographers
In addition to the “kissing thing” and all the fun images it created for them all day long, we also took many of their engagement photos in several other locations in Canal Park by the famous Duluth aerial lift bridge. We also used some old warehouses in the area, a stop at Lester River Park, more images in the forest at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. Finishing on Lake Superior with the famous Split Rock Lighthouse in the background.
We hope you’ve enjoyed James & Alli’s engagement photos on Lake Superior and we look forward to sharing their entire wedding day story and wedding photographs in December.
A big thank you to James & Alli for coming “up north” with us and for making our day so much fun!
