Molly’s Irondale High School Senior Portraits in Duluth, MN and The North Shore of Lake Superior.
Molly’s Irondale High School senior portraits created on Lake Superior. Our 2014 North Shore Portrait Weekend on Lake Superior was a great success! This was our 19th Annual North Shore Portrait Weekend and we had a really great time with everyone up on Lake Superior this year.
We’re going to highlight the high school senior pictures of Molly in this blog post. Molly is 2015 senior at Irondale High School in New Brighton, MN.
Senior Photos at Split Rock Lighthouse
We love doing high school senior photos in both Duluth and at Split Rock Lighthouse because of the great variety of image possibilities that each location offers.
Molly shared her extended session with another high school senior Mady, whose mom made the trip up north with her as well. We started “dueling sessions” just last year. Doing two portrait seasons at the same time really cuts travel time to and from Duluth to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. It works great too! While one is changing clothes, we work with the other. It’s also a great way to meet and make some new friends too!
Joannie and I had the pleasure of being the wedding photographers for Molly’s parents Jon and Susan back in June of 1995!
Molly’s senior picture session on our North Shore Portrait Weekend begins at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. Right there on the lakeshore with the world famous lighthouse in the background.
The Split Rock Lighthouse is one of the most photographed icons in all of Minnesota; in no small part due to Joannie and myself over the years! We’ve been making it the primary site of our annual North Shore Portrait Weekend since 1996!
We photographed Molly in several locations along the shores of Lake Superior and we also had the opportunity to create the whole family’s portraits at Split Rock Lighthouse too!
Once we finished up at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park, we started heading towards Duluth and more great locations for her senior portraits. It was starting to rain ever so lightly off and on. It was a sign of things to come.
Irondale Senior Pictures on Lake Superior
Our first stop was a new spot for us and of course, I still can’t remember the name of the place, but it sure was pretty. It’s not really very well marked from the road, but I know I can find it again and we’ll be using it in future years for sure! I’m going to call it our “secret spot” since I can’t remember the name!
Irondale Senior Portraits in Duluth, MN
Our final stops were in Duluth. The first was Leif Erickson Park. By this time, it was lightly raining and so we made do with umbrellas and using some of our light reflectors as umbrellas and the rest of us getting “just a little soggy” while keeping both of our seniors as dry as we could.
It was a pretty productive stop too as Joannie and our parent helpers; also known as human light stands; assisted in helping us get the job done. It was great teamwork to be sure.
Molly’s senior portrait session ended by the famous Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge. By this time, it was raining much harder and so we made it a quick stop. This also was a pretty productive photo stop too as Joannie, and our parent assistants helped us get the job done before we were all soaked. Nice job everyone!
We hope you enjoyed this sampling of Molly’s Irondale High School senior portraits. Thank you, Molly, Jon, Susan, and Catie for asking Joannie and myself to create your senior and family portraits for you. We really enjoyed seeing you guys and look forward to showing you a lot of great images real soon!
