The Twin Cities Best Wedding Photographers

The Best Wedding Photographers in Minneapolis and Saint Paul for 2019

The Knot "Best of Weddings" 2019. Award to Michael Anderson Photography.

For the seventh year in a row, and 10th time in the last 12 years, we’ve been recognized for our wedding photography by real wedded couples.

Joannie and I are very pleased to announce that we have been selected once again as one of the Twin Cities best wedding photographers as recipients of The Knot Best of Weddings2019!

Corey, being Corey.

This is an award representing the highest-rated wedding professionals as reviewed by actual wedded couples on The Knot. Joannie and I were inducted into The Knot Hall of Fame several years ago, and this marks the 10th time in the last 12 years that we’ve earned this, one of the top wedding awards in the country.

Less than 4% of all wedding vendors on The Knot have been selected for this award for 2019. So this is a huge honor for us.

Over the past year, Joannie and I have photographed weddings all over the Minneapolis and Saint Paul area and beyond. We really enjoy the great relationships we have with our couples.

From the quality of our wedding photography, our unique style as a husband and wife wedding photography team, and the fun we have with them on their wedding day. We know that our couples see the love and effort that we put into their wedding day with them.

Husband and Wife Wedding Photographers

There are many things that set us apart from other wedding photographers. Things like having more than 32 years of experience as professional wedding photographers. That vast experience comes into play at every wedding. Yeah, we’re not wet behind the ears any more, and your wedding photographs won’t look like it either.

We Don’t Travel Light

We have an incredible array of cameras, lenses, and state-of-the-art lighting equipment that we have at our disposal at each wedding we photograph. In the lens department alone, we’ve got wedding photography covered from our “ultra-wide” 11mm lens to our “super-telephoto” 600mm lenses.

In this day and age where there so many so-called pros showing up weddings with a camera, a kits lens, and maybe a flash to photograph weddings, we’ve elevated our game way above that. It’s all about the quality of your wedding images.

The World’s Only Light Painting Wedding Photographers

Joannie and I are the only light painting wedding photographers in the world. We actually invented this concept. Our couples know just how cool that is.

Light painting wedding photography is another example of what sets us apart from all other wedding photographers.

We created our first light painted wedding photo in June of 2017, and there’s not much that can stop us now! Despite several challenging weather days, Joannie and I managed to create a light painted wedding photograph for every wedding we photographed in 2018!

Not Just For Weddings

Well, there was one exception. Chris and Sarah’s early morning wedding at The Como Conservatory was followed by a luncheon at The Happy Gnome. We could not light paint because it was still daytime at the conclusion of their wedding celebration.

Knowing that well ahead of time, we created their light painting as one of their engagement portraits on Lake Superior on our annual “North Shore Weekend” in August.

Indoors or Out

We love the challenge of creating these one-of-of-kind works of art for our couples at their weddings. And our couples simply love the finished light painted wedding photos that we create! Like this pretty wedding light painting that we created for Ben and Emilee at A’BULAE in downtown Saint Paul, MN.

Wild, Wild, West

There was also the stunning wedding light painting we created with Shayne, Lindsay, a few helpers, and 100 million mosquitoes, at their amazing wedding at Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, MN.

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to let The Knot know about what it’s like to work with Joannie and myself and our wedding photography! I personally want to thank Joannie for being at my side at our weddings. She’s the best!

Here’s to a great 2019 and beyond! – M&J
