Piper’s Senior Portraits in Long Lake Park.
Time for something positive and fun! We want to share some of Piper’s senior portraits in Long Lake Park.
Last fall, I had the pleasure of creating Piper’s senior photos (with the help of her mom, Rhonda). It was a glorious fall evening at Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton, MN. We parked at the train depot located at the New Brighton History Center and then took a nice stroll in search of great photo spots. From time to time Piper would return to their car (also known as the dressing room) for outfit changes.
Piper is a member of the Centennial High School Marching Band, and we incorporated her uniform and trombone into many of her senior photos. Then, once it got dark outside, we made a stop back at our studio for a few more formal senior photos as well as a little green screen fun too! More on that shortly.
As I usually do, I had Lightning McQueen along as my lighting assistant and I used Lightning on the majority of Piper’s senior pictures in Long Lake Park. Having that big softbox on hand really made for wonderful light in her eyes, as well as great skin tones. As you can see, Lightning made for some really pretty sunset photos too! I also did a fair amount of backlighting on Piper with the second light that always rides along on Lightning McQueen.
Green Screen Composite
As I mentioned earlier, after dark, we made a stop back at the studio for a few formal senior photos as well as a green-screen photo. I combined that photo with this version of a cool light-painted wedding photograph that Joannie and I created at Jesse and Stephanie’s Elm Creek Chalet wedding back in June 2018. The completed senior portrait composite is below. Pretty cool!
I hope you’ve enjoyed Piper’s senior photos in Long Lake Park. I’ve put together a fun little music video with some of her favorite senior pics and that link to our Youtube Channel is below. Thank you for reading our post and be safe out there! – M&J
