White Bear Yacht Club Wedding

White Bear Yacht Club Wedding

Joannie and I are very pleased to share some of James and Erin’s wonderful White Bear Yacht Club wedding photos with you. Our happy couple was married last Saturday on a glorious spring day here in Minnesota!

In this post, we’ll take you from their getting ready photos all the way to the start of their pretty wedding ceremony on the shores of White Bear Lake in White Bear, MN.

No One Else Does This

As many of you know by now, Joannie & I are the only wedding photographers in the world that create light painted wedding photographs at weddings. James and Erin’s wedding broke new ground for us in that we created three light paintings at their wedding. We’ve never attempted more than one at a wedding before.

I got the idea to light paint some of their pretty wedding details while Joannie and I were working with their wedding rings, Erin’s shoes, and their wedding invitation. Below is the before and after of the first of their three light paintings.

Wedding rings, invitation, bouquet, and the bride's shoes before light painting them.

The second was similar but featured just their wedding rings with Erin’s beautiful bouquet.

Their third light painting we will be sharing with you on a few more days once it’s complete. This one is what we’re really known for. A one-of-a-kind, whole scene, light painted wedding photograph with the bride and groom in the image.

As you can see, what makes this one really unique is that we attempted it outdoors during the day! I’m not sure that anyone has ever attempted to light paint anything outside in the daylight hours. Well, Joannie and I did! And so far, it looks like we pulled it off too!

There’s A Movie!

Our cute highlight video at the bottom of the post begins with White Bear Yacht Club wedding photographs of Erin and the girls getting ready for the big day. James arrived totally ready, so once the girls were all set, the first looks followed. Erin’s dad went first, and then moments later James and Erin saw each other right there on the lawn at the yacht club.

It was a very sunny day, especially at the start, so we photographed all of the formals in the shade on the north side of the club. There was also a moderate breeze coming off White Bear Lake, which made for some fun photos with Erin’s pretty veil.

Wedding Party & Family Photos

After James and Erin’s first look and their formal wedding photos, the wedding party was up next followed by all of the family photographs. Despite the really sunny conditions, these are wonderful White Bear Yacht Club wedding pictures!

Once all of their wedding formals had concluded, it was time for their pretty wedding ceremony on the shoreline of White Bear Lake. What a beautiful wedding! Yes, it was very sunny outside, but with the breeze off the lake, it wasn’t hot and it certainly was absolutely beautiful!

Much More To Come

We’ll conclude this post with a fun wedding party photo taken just before the ceremony. In a few more days, we will be sharing many of the fun images from their social hour, photos of our newlyweds on the boat docks, and also some with the White Bear Yacht Club as their backdrop, as well as photos of the luncheon, and more!
