Wedding Aboard The Jubilee II
Joannie and I had the pleasure of photographing Ryan and Tina’s wedding aboard The Jubilee II. This is one of the cool Stillwater River Boats docked at St. Croix Boat & Packet in downtown Stillwater, MN. Their pretty wedding was held on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend.

This was a glorious day to be on the St. Croix River. Ryan and Tina’s day had mostly blue skies and cooler temperatures with a bit of a breeze. But nothing that made the river too choppy. Joannie and I brought coats but never even put them on.
Their First Look
We met up with Tina at the Water Street Inn in downtown Stillwater. She was ready when we arrived and so we went to meet up with Ryan to set up for their first look. Tina and Ryan preferred the gazebo on the river, it wasn’t occupied, so we did exactly that!
With his back to Tina’s approach, Ryan awaited a tap on his shoulder. And when he turned around there Tina was in her pretty wedding dress! After a few moments, they were ready to go!

The Car
Joannie and I captured some nice wedding images right there in the gazebo with the St. Croix River and the famous Stillwater Lift Bridge in the background. Then there was a prop that they wanted to include in some of their wedding photos.

This wasn’t just any prop either! This was a beautiful 1953 Ford Crestline Victoria!
We decided to take the car away from the crowds up to Pioneer Park for some photographs of our cute couple and a few images with mom and dad too. We found a pretty spot in the shade and created a really nice series of images with this classic vehicle.

Did We Forget Something?
Those of you who know us and what we love to do are probably wondering if we light painted that wonderful car? Well, due to the big crowd levels on the holiday weekend in Stillwater, we opted not to even attempt it on their wedding day (a good call). That, and light painting an automobile properly takes much more time than is available on a wedding day.
So we decided, before the wedding, to set an alternate date to light paint Ryan and Tina with the car. That date was this past Tuesday night and we certainly will share that image once it’s completed! Pretty sure it will be pretty cool!
Family Photographs on the St. Croix
After the cool wedding images with the Ford Crestline Victoria, we met up with their families downtown for some nice photos with their favorite bridge as the backdrop. The very sunny day dictated that we find some shade and we did under a large tree right on the riverfront.

Then it was time to board the boat and get these two married!
The Jubilee II Wedding Ceremony
Joannie & I got our gear onboard the Jubilee II and got to work photographing their pretty decor on the different levels of the boat. Then, once all of their wedding guests had boarded, I disembarked so I could capture a “little” group photo of everyone that was about to embark on the wedding voyage! Here’s that image!

Once I was back on the Jubilee II, we set off for our pretty trip down the St. Croix River. Shortly after we left port, Ryan and Tina were married on the second deck by Pastor Nancy! With pretty vocals and guitar music by Tina’s friend Bridget, this was a very special ceremony.

Cruisin’ The River
Upon their pronouncement as husband and wife, Ryan and Tina led everyone up to the third deck for the social hour. Dinner and dancing would follow, the whole time we all were able to enjoy a spectacular river cruise on a perfect evening on the scenic St. Croix River!

More To Come!
As we mentioned above, there will be a light painting coming in the days ahead and we most certainly will be sharing that image once it is completed. In the meantime, a big thank you to Ryan and Tina for the honor of being your wedding photographers. We had a great time capturing images for the start of your lifetime voyage together! – M&J
