7 Vines Vineyard Wedding Reception

7 Vines Vineyard Wedding Reception

Last Friday, we shared Dan and Jenny’s wedding day leading up to just prior to their 7 Vines Vineyard wedding reception. Now, it’s time to share some of those wonderful wedding reception photos with you!

This was such a fun wedding for Joannie and me to be a part of. These guys are like family to us! We go back 31 years to when we photographed Jenny’s parent’s wedding, Jason and Sharon! Even prior to that, I was a Royal Guard in the St. Paul Winter Carnival with Jenny’s grandpa Merlin, who was the Prince of the East Wind!

Thorugh the years, I’ve photographed their senior portraits and also their family multiple times in the Twin Cities. And on more than one occasion while on our annual North Shore Weekend on Lake Superior too!

Photos in the Vineyard

Shortly after the wedding party arrived at 7 Vines, we took a stroll out to the vineyard for some fun images. It had gone from a nice overcast day (for photos) in the morning to a very clear sky by this time in the afternoon, so shade was what we were looking to create much more pleasing images.

The far west side of the property had some tall trees to block out most of the direct sun, so that was the spot we headed for. Dan and Jenny’s wedding party are a pretty fun group of characters and it didn’t take much encouragement to get them to have a little fun out in the field (actually, no encouragement was needed at all).

Dinner Time!

A wonderful dinner was up next. During dinner, we debuted one of our “Refections” multi-media presentations for everyone to enjoy. It was all about Dan and Jenny’s growing up years leading up to, and including their wedding day. Jenny’s parents, as well as Dan’s mom, Cindy, supplied some great commentary that I added to the soundtrack. Dan and Jenny also had a voice cameo in there as well. It was a big hit!

After dinner, we snuck outside for just a few minutes, just after sunset, for a few photos of our cute couple in really soft beautiful light.

Dancing Queen

Dan and Jenny’s first dance was up next, followed by Jenny dancing with her dad and then Dan with his mom. A short time later, Dan and Jenny played “The Shoe Game” and that was a lot of fun to see! Then the dance floor was open and the full celebration was on!

Just One More Thing

Once their wedding dance was underway, Joannie and I took all of our gear downstairs so that we could create a one-of-a-kind light painting for Dan and Jenny. This one should be pretty cool as we were allowed to light paint in the “Barrel Room”. That’s where they age the wine in huge oak barrels.

There are well over 50 barrels in the room and we light painted most of them along with Dan and Jenny! We’ll be sharing that unique image in the days to come for sure! Here’s what it looks like most of the time:

7 Vines Vineyard Wedding Reception – The Movie

We’ve got a cute highlight music video to share with you (it’s even the correct one this time). It contains many of our favorite images from Dan and Jenny’s wonderful 7 Vines Vineyard wedding reception.

Joannie and I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Dan and Jenny for asking us to be a part of your wedding day! It means a lot to us that you wanted us to be your wedding photographers and we thank you for the honor. – M&J
