Bobby & Anna’s Hoversten Chapel Wedding Highlights!
I had the honor and privilege of capturing the Hoversten Chapel wedding day for Bobby and Ana this past Friday, August 2nd. It was a really wonderful wedding and an awesome wedding day too with just about perfect weather and a great location at the Hoversten Chapel on the campus of Augsburg College near downtown Minneapolis.
We’ve known Ana for many years as she was a member of the Augsburg College “Fabulous Five” as a roommate, Dance Team member and fellow Augie graduate along with our daughter Michelle. So it was a real treat when Ana and Bobby asked me to photograph their wedding for them!
Our wedding photography highlight music video begins with “the boys”. We spent some time in and out of Hoversten Chapel and around the college campus creating great images of them as a group and individually as well. In particular, the front of the Augsburg Seminary had a lot of character, so we spent much of our time there and would return with the girls a bit later on that afternoon.
Bobby’s first look was done in a manner that I hadn’t done before. As a surprise! We had made our way back to Hoversten Chapel with the boys and when Ana was ready, had set up to do a groom and groomsmen group shot in the center aisle of the chapel. As we photographed the boys, Ana snuck in behind them and up to Bobby. She tapped him on the shoulder, he turned around and much to his surprise, there she was! Ana did a nice job setting that up with the groomsmen beforehand. Worked pretty much like clockwork.
After their first look, the whole wedding party set out on campus for their images together and some of the girls as a group too. Then we returned and photographed all of the family combinations right by the pine trees at the front entrance of Hoversten Chapel. It was just a beautiful day for outdoor portraits.
Then it was time for a wedding! What a great wedding ceremony it was too, very personal, emotional and officiated by Bobby’s uncle, Scott Bliss. After which, we took a few images of the two of them along with their dog “Koby” in the park right there on campus. Then it was off to the Eagan Community Center for the beautiful reception, dinner, and dance. A really fun time was had by all!
