Joannie and I had the pleasure of creating the wedding photography for Amy and Justin’s wedding held last Saturday at the Graves 601 Hotel in downtown Minneapolis, MN.
I’ve had lots of fun with Amy and Justin in the last few months leading up to their wedding, creating their engagement portraits at Minnehaha Falls in the Fall colors and an additional unique engagement session at Justin’s shop and his very sweet car.
The Graves 601 Hotel is very unique with some pretty interesting design touches sprinkled throughout the property. The ballroom features two back-lit blue glass walls at each end of the room – dramatic, yet elegant. The room is wrapped in rich Paldao wood which is complimented by multi level light boxes within each unique glass design. Amy and Justin spruced it up even more with fun uplighting that changed throughout the evening. Very Nice.
Well, on this wedding day Mother Nature made some of the location decisions for us. Mid 90’s, very high humidity and winds in the 30 mile per hour range made for a mostly indoor day of wedding photography. Adapting is the name of the game when you are wedding photographers. That’s why Joannie and I carry so much photographic gear with us to a wedding, sometimes you need some help on a wedding day. It must have worked pretty well as I could not fit all the day’s highlights into one music video.
We start out with Part One of this wedding highlight music video with the “King and Queen” getting ready with the groomsmen and bridesmaids. We follow that up with Justin’s “first Look” at Amy’s really beautiful wedding dress. Then we follow that with parents and family wedding portraits and then lots and lots of wedding photography of a pretty crazy wedding party in the main ballroom.
Part Two will begin with Amy and Justin’s ceremony and also include the wedding party in downtown “shopping”, the Grand March, reception and dance. Watch for it in the next day or so.
Thank you Amy and Justin for asking Joannie and myself to create your wedding photography for you two. We had a great day with you, your families and friends. We look forward to showing you the rest of your awesome photographs when you return from your Hawaiian honeymoon! Aloha!
