Augsburg College Chapel Wedding of Tony and Sara
Tony and Sara were married last Saturday, June 14th in a beautiful Augsburg College Chapel wedding ceremony. The Hoversten Chapel at Augsburg is a warm and really friendly place to have a wedding. Just last year I photographed Bobby and Ana’s wonderful wedding there! Here we are almost one year later, and both Bobby and Ana are in the wedding party for Tony and Sara’s awesome Augsburg College Chapel wedding!

This marks the third time in just one month that Joannie and I have had the tremendous honor of being the wedding photographers for a very good friends’ wedding! One month ago today on May 17th we had Grant getting married to our longtime friend Christine Holmgren at Rush Creek Golf Course! You can relive their wedding day highlights in Part One and Part Two of their fantastic wedding.
Then just two weeks ago, Adam married our longtime friend Tawnya Rusin at Faith Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids, MN followed by a stunning reception, dinner, and dance at Golden Valley Country Club.

Which brings us to Tony and Sara! These two friends of ours both graduated from Augsburg College and Sara, as well as Ana, were roommates and fellow Augsburg Dance Team members with our very own Michelle while they were all attending Augsburg College. Nice!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!
Due to the rainy day, we were kept inside before the wedding ceremony hoping that Mother Nature would cut us a break at sometime during the day for some outdoor wedding photo opportunities. But that didn’t mean that we had to be boring and conservative!
Our fisheye lens got a little workout on this wedding day! Augsburg College Hoversten Chapel lends itself well to the use of a fisheye lens with its warm overall colors and open spaces, so it was the lens of choice to showcase some wedding portraits of Tony and Sara and then later on with their wedding party too!

Hoversten Chapel Wedding Ceremony
Then comes the big moment of the day, time for Tony and Sara to get married! With truly wonderful music sung and played by Patti Darbo and a sweet homily by Sonja Hagander, this was a very special wedding ceremony that’s for sure!

We end Part One of Tony and Sara’s wonderful Augsburg College Chapel wedding day with our newlyweds coming down the aisle as husband and wife! Sweet!
Part Two from Tony and Sara’s wedding should be here on our blog in the coming days. It will highlight some wonderful post-ceremony moments including an appearance by the Sun of all things. Don’t worry, it was only for a few seconds and then we needed umbrellas again! Then we’re off to their wedding reception, dinner and really fun dance at Royal Cliff in Eagan, MN.
