Alex and Alyssa’s Wedding Day
Joannie and I had the honor of photographing Alex and Alyssa’s wedding on Saturday, May 22nd. We have been looking forward to their wedding even before they joined us on our North Shore Weekend last summer. We had such a great time creating their engagement photographs on Lake Superior, We knew back then that they were going to be a lot of fun on their wedding day.

Getting Ready at the Marriott West
We began the day with Alyssa and the girls at the Marriott West in Minneapolis, MN. They had a nice suite with a HUGE balcony just outside their door. We had a great time photographing and visiting with Alyssa and her crew. While there, Joannie and I set up a fun image with Alyssa’s pretty wedding dress and her accessories right there on the bed!

After some fun candids out on that balcony, Alyssa put on her dress and she was all ready for the big day! We all departed the hotel together and headed to the church. It was time to meet up with Alex and the guys just prior to their wedding ceremony.

St. Phillip the Deacon Lutheran Church
Alex and Alyssa’s wedding ceremony was held at St. Phillip the Deacon Lutheran Church in Plymouth, MN. Due to COVID, this was the first wedding ceremony held at the church in well over a year! I think we got them off to a great “restart”!
It was a wonderful ceremony that included some cute stories told by Pastor Tim Westermeyer during his homily about Alex’s proposal to Alyssa. When it was all said and done, we had Minnesota’s newest newlyweds right there with us!

Shortly after the conclusion of their ceremony, Joannie and I got to work photographing the families and their wedding party at the altar. Everyone was so nice! They all made it easy for us to create the images and still get everyone over to the reception in a timely manner for the celebration!

Golden Valley Country Club
Alex and Alyssa’s wedding reception was held at the beautiful Golden Valley Country Club in Golden Valley, MN. Upon our arrival, we got set up and photographed their decorations and some candids of their wedding guests having fun. Once Alex, Alyssa, and their wedding party got there, we gathered them for some fun outdoor wedding photos at this beautiful property.

The Grand March, dinner, and some very nice speeches followed. Then it was time for everyone to hit the dance floor! Our highlight music video (below) has lots of images from throughout their awesome wedding day. It concludes with a spectacular sunset image that we snuck in there during the dance.

Last, but not least, Joannie and I were able to create another of our one-of-a-kind light painted wedding photographs with Alex and Alyssa! We will be sharing that amazing wedding image once it’s completed in the days to come. In the meantime, here’s a cute light painted photograph of their wedding rings on top of two cupcakes!
