Andrew & Kate’s Mount Olivet Lutheran Church Wedding
Joannie & I had the honor of photographing Andrew & Kate’s beautiful Mount Olivet Lutheran Church wedding on February 11th. I can tell you that this was a really fun wedding! Everyone was so nice, considerate and really fun to hang around with all day long. The groomsmen, in particular, were a pretty cool group of guys. More on that later.
As you can see at the following link for in their Mears Park engagement portraits, Andrew and Kate are a really fun and super cute couple and their Mount Olivet Lutheran Church wedding totally reinforced that.
Their unseasonably warm February wedding day (actually spring-like) made for quite a few outdoor photographs both during the day and well into the evening too. I can’t remember the last time I photographed outside in February without even wearing a coat of any kind!
We actually started our wedding photography coverage at their reception location, the Casablanca Hall at the Profile Event Center in Minneapolis, MN. The ladies were getting their hair and makeup done there, so it was the place to be. We weren’t supposed to start that early in the day, but I wanted to get Kate’s dress and the pretty ballroom photographed with no one around, so we surprised Kate and just showed up. I love fun surprises!
Joannie & I left Profile Event Center to get set up at the church for their Mount Olivet Lutheran Church wedding. The guys were there getting ready when we arrived. Andrew’s first look at Kate was in the pretty entryway at the church.
We used that awesome background for the family portraits and the wedding party as well as the church’s exterior for more fun images of the wedding party on this warm winter day.
Their pretty Mount Olivet Lutheran Church wedding ceremony was up up next. Pastor Kalland led a very upbeat wedding ceremony with lots of laughter mixed in! When it was all said and done, we had Minnesota’s newest married couple! Sweet!
After the ceremony, we met the wedding party in downtown Minneapolis at the historic Stone Arch Bridge for a quick, fun photo stop.
Wedding photography in the dark is always a challenge, but when you get results like this and at the top of the page, it’s totally worth it! A thank you goes out to Andrew’s groomsmen for helping us out there. These boys really went out of their way to make sure that Andrew and Kate had a great wedding day experience. Thanks guys!
From the Stone Arch Bridge, it was just a short drive to the Profile Event Center for a great dinner, reception and dance! Our final wedding images of the night were with Andrew and the boys. Andrew had given each of them personalized cigar lighters and there was this box of cigars…need I say more? Pretty cool, huh?
Andrew & Kate, Joannie & I want to say thank you for including us as part of your wedding day. We had a blast with you and your friends and family. Here’s a fun highlight music video we’ve put together for you. We’ll see you soon! – M&J
