Happy Second Wedding Anniversary to Ben and Amanda!
In honor of their second wedding anniversary we’re reposting our blog entry from the beautiful Gooseberry Falls Destination Wedding of Ben and Amanda. These two “newlyweds” are going to be parents to a baby girl in just a few days! Joannie and I are very excited for you and can’t wait to meet her! Happy second anniversary you guys!
Here we go from June 2011:
The second of our two destination weddings this past weekend, Ben and Amanda were married Sunday at Gooseberry Falls State Park. What a unique location for a wedding!
Joannie and I met up with Ben and Amanda at Cove Point Lodge (one of our favorite places to stay in Minnesota) where they got ready along with their wedding party and where they had their first look too. Very cool. Then it was on to the wedding ceremony and reception at Gooseberry Falls State Park.
The North Shore of Lake Superior wasn’t the place to be for nice weather this past weekend, it was cold, windy and rainy, but that didn’t stop us from having a great time with everyone! We adapted. Instead of an outdoor ceremony, we moved inside the Lady Slipper Lodge complete with a “Unity” fire in the fireplace! Very neat wedding idea.
After the ceremony the reception was held inside at the nearby Lakeside Picnic Shelter. Great food, an awesome cake (made by mom), a nice warm fire and some really “cool” windy wedding portraits by Lake Superior.
We finished the day with the wedding party at Gooseberry Falls!
Our wedding highlight video shows that you can still have a beautiful ceremony, nice reception, have lots of fun and take some great photographs despite Mother Nature’s intervention!
