Chris & Kris and their fall color Minneapolis engagement portraits.
We created these pretty engagement photos on the Mississippi Riverfront near at Guthrie Theater and the Stone Arch Bridge.
It certainly was a very, very busy month of October for us and I’m so happy to say that in general, Mother Nature gave us a wonderful fall color season this year! Other than a couple times where it was a bit windy, not one engagement or portrait session had to be rescheduled because of bad weather. Very nice.
Rain, Rain, Stay Away
Chris & Kris’ Minneapolis engagement portraits were looking like they were going to be washed out, but the rain waited (other than a few raindrops here and there) until we had finished their engagement session by the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis.
We met at the Guthrie Theater and took a stroll down by the Mill City Museum and at several of the unique photo spots that wonderful area has to offer. There were still some nice fall colors here and there too. I wasn’t really expecting to see much color that late in October, but there it was! Nice!
We finished shortly before the rain arrived, right down on the Mississippi River with the Stone Arch Bridge as their background and then started back toward our cars thinking the session was all finished up. Well, not exactly.
Another Pretty Spot On The River
We went back a different a way than we came and I found out there was one more cool spot to try out. A pretty walking path in the woods going up the hill behind the Guthrie Theater. At first, I just wanted to use it because of the fall foliage there. But when you turned around to face the river again, it was too scenic of a spot not to continue shooting. The lamppost image below is one of my favorites for sure!
We hope you’ve enjoyed this little look at Chris & Kris’ Minneapolis engagement portraits. These two kids will be getting married this coming January at the Crystal Lake Golf Club in Lakeville, MN. It’s a wedding venue that Joannie & I have never photographed at before, so we’re looking forward to it very much! – M&J
