Beauty and the Beast Photo Composite
We’ve got a fun, and really cute, photo story to share with you! It’s a Beauty and the Beast photo composite of our beautiful granddaughter Riley and her adorable little brother Ryder, also loving known as “Bubba”.
This one has taken grandpa a while to complete, but I think it was worth the wait. The photos of both of the kids were taken to mark Riley’s fourth birthday last fall. Ryder was barely standing and just seven months old at the time.
Originally I was only going to have Riley in the image. It was for her birthday after all. But adding Ryder in his Beast Halloween costume just made sense. I had to “flip him around” so he could face the other way, but that was pretty easy to do in post-production. I have also created individual versions with each of them in the scene too.
Beauty and the Bubba
Beauty and the Beast portrait composite took on a very elegant look mostly because of Riley and her pretty Belle gown. The look she gave me while holding a rose really sets the mood of the image. And what can I say, little “Bubba” is just plain cute!
Beauty and the Beast photo composite was somewhat of a challenge. I knew the look I was going for, but getting all of the different pieces photographed, combined, and put together took more time (during the busy season) than I could spend on it. I finally got to spend some quality time on it this spring.
It turned out that the toughest part was photographing the glass dome and the rose. It’s pretty tough to take something clear (glass) and make it show up in a photograph “on purpose”. I think it turned out pretty cool looking, especially with the added “pixie dust” and red glow of the rose. Thankfully, Grandpa kinda knows his Photoshop.
Now that the whole scene has been created, I can use it for other things too. It would be pretty cool to place a sports team in there (softball, volleyball, dance, basketball, cheer, swimming, or tennis), or even more little “Belle lovers” out there too! – M&J
