Light Painting a Pair of Admiral Blue Corvettes
The evening after light painting Larry and Bev’s stunning 1967 C2 Corvette Resto-Mod, Joannie and I headed further south near Austin, Arkansas, to light paint Rick and Lois’ two Admiral Blue Corvettes.
Here’s the setup image of the two Corvettes in the garden area. All we needed was for it to get dark out so we could begin the light painting process.
In honor of America’s 250th Birthday, we selected their red, white, and Admiral Blue 2019 Corvette Grand Sport with our “Photographer’s Choice Award” at the 2026 Corvettes in Paradise Show. This fantastic Corvette show is the hard work of the Lake of the Ozarks Corvette Club and is held annually at the Margaritaville Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri.
The 2019 Corvette Grand Sport
Their 2019 Admiral Blue Corvette Grand Sport was special-ordered with the white stripes, red hash marks, and the red interior, as well as the blue convertible top. She’s one sweet patriotic ride! No wonder we selected it in honor of our nation’s 250th Birthday!

2019 was the last year for the C7 Corvette Grand Sport. However, Rick tells us that Chevrolet will be producing a C8 Admiral Blue Grand Sport in 2027. We’re wondering if there might be one of those in their garage down the road?
The 1996 Corvette Grand Sport
Shortly after Corvettes in Paradise, Rick and Lois asked us if it would be ok to have a second red, white, and blue Corvette in their light painting. That was a no-brainer for us!
Their 1996 Corvette Grand Sport was a Limited Edition for the last of the C4 Generation. It honored the 1963 race cars. Chevrolet made 1,000 units (810 coupes & 190 convertibles), and they all featured the Admiral Blue paint, a wide white stripe, red fender hash marks, and a 330 hp LT4 V8 engine.
A Patriotic Light Painting
Of course, the interior also carries the red, white, and blue theme!
Upon our arrival at their home, we set out to select the location for their project. We selected their 2019 Corvette because it was red, white, and blue, so a patriotic look made sense. And, since Rick is a veteran, having the American Flag in the image was a pretty good idea. They also have some wonderful soldier statues in the garden near their flagpole.
So we arranged their statuary of soldiers in the center of the light painting in honor of those who have served. Then, we placed each Corvette so that the statuary was was nicly centered between them. A short time later, once it got dark, we were underway!
As a very important side note, we want to thank you both for your service to our country! Rick and Lois, both of your personal sacrifices for our freedom are truly appreciated!

Light Painting a Pair of Patriotic Corvettes
To complete this patriotic light painting project, Joannie and I took a whopping 483 images that night! The vast majority of those were of their very large yard, which served as the beautiful backdrop for their light painting.
In post-production, I used 132 of those 483 images, in 202 unique layers, to create their cool one-of-a-kind Master File that you see below:
