Forest Lake High School Senior Pictures of Mady in Duluth, MN and on the North Shore of Lake Superior.
Mady’s Forest Lake High School senior pictures on Lake Superior. Our 2014 “North Shore Portrait Weekend” on Lake Superior was a great success! We had a super fun group of high school seniors, their families and a cute couple’s engagement portrait session too!
This year was our 19th Annual North Shore Portrait Weekend and we had a really fun time with everyone who made the trek to Lake Superior this year.
We’re going to highlight one of our high school seniors in this blog post. Mady is a senior at Forest Lake High School.
Mady shared her extended session with another high school senior Molly, whose family made the trip up north as well. It’s a trick we started using last year; doing two seasons basically at the same time to cut back on travel time to and from Duluth to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. It works pretty well! While one is changing outfits, we work with the other. It’s also a great way to meet and make some new friends too!
We’ve known Mady since she was a baby! Joannie and I had the pleasure of being the wedding photographers for her parents Craig and Gail back in October of 1993! Time fly’s doesn’t it Gail and Craig?
Forest Lake High School Senior Pictures at Split Rock Lighthouse
Mady’s senior picture session on our North Shore Portrait Weekend begins at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. Right there on the lakeshore with the famous lighthouse in the background. The Split Rock Lighthouse is the most photographed icon in all of Minnesota. In no small part due to us over the years! No wonder we’ve been making it the site of our annual North Shore Portrait Weekend since 1996!
We photographed Mady in several locations along the shores of Lake Superior and on one occasion with her mom too with Split Rock Lighthouse in their background.
Once we finished up at the lighthouse, we started heading towards Duluth and more great locations for her senior portraits.
Forest Lake High School Senior Pics at a Secret Beach
Our first stop was a new spot for us and quite frankly, I can’t remember the name of the place, but it sure was pretty. It’s not really very well marked, but I know I can find it again and we’ll be using it in future years for sure!
Forest Lake High School Senior Photos in Duluth, MN
Our final stops were in Duluth. The first was Leif Erikson Park. By this time, it was lightly raining off and on and so we made do with real umbrellas and some of our reflectors as umbrellas and the rest of us getting “damp” while keeping our two seniors as dry as we could. But it was a pretty productive stop as Joannie, and our parent helpers (read: human light stands) assisted in helping us get the job done. It was great teamwork for sure.
Mady’s session ended at the famous Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge. By this time, it was raining a bit harder and so we made it a quick stop. But it was a pretty productive one too as Mady, Joannie, and our parent assistants helped us get the job done before we were all soaked. Nice job everyone!
We hope you enjoyed this small sampling of Mady’s senior portraits and her music highlight video as much as we enjoyed creating it for her.
Thank you, Mady and Gail, for asking Joannie and myself to create your senior portraits for you. We enjoyed seeing you guys “up north” and look forward to showing you a lot of great images when we get together very soon!
