Brandon’s North High School senior portraits created in downtown Stillwater, Minnesota and at Bristol Ridge Golf Course near Somerset, Wisconsin.
Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of spending the day with Brandon while creating his North High School senior portraits. This was a beautiful day in photographically awesome downtown Stillwater, MN!
Brandon is not only a North High School senior but also our nephew and Joannie & I are also his Godparents!
So the plan on Saturday called for “male bonding”, senior portraits, a round of golf (with more senior photos) and eating whatever we wanted because mom, dad, and Joannie were not around!
The weather was spectacular on Saturday! Stillwater was a bustling town with lots and lots of people enjoying one of the few remaining warm weekends outdoors. There were even some great cloud formations which called for creating for some of Brandon’s North High School senior portraits in really awesome color and B&W infrared!
We made a stop just north of Stillwater at the same sandy beach where we created some of Ben & Michelle’s engagement portraits just the Sunday before.
Here’s more of Brandon’s North High School senior pics in both color and B&W infrared.
Senior Photography in Stillwater, MN
As I’ve mentioned many times before, I really love the Stillwater area for creating portraits of all kinds. It’s got so many unique possibilities for both weddings and portraits.
After a lunch stop at Leo’s Grill & Malt Shop for ice cream and burgers, we set off to create some more of Brandon’s North High School senior portraits, this time though, we were going for some action shots!
Senior Photos and Golf
Yes, a round of golf was our next stop. Joannie & I love playing golf at Bristol Ridge Golf Course near Somerset, Wisconsin. It’s a challenging and picturesque 18 hole beauty in the rolling hills of western Wisconsin!
We had a nice afternoon playing golf together and taking more of his senior photos while playing was an added bonus.
Because Brandon is an avid golfer, I suggested that we incorporate golf in his North High School senior portraits. I wanted to get some action shots during the round so everything would look natural and not set up. Our Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD Lens came in very handy during the round. At up to 600mm, it allowed me to actually be in front of him while he hit his shots and still be at a safe distance without fear of being hit by one of those pesky golf balls!
Because we were there to not only play golf but also create Brandon’s senior pictures, we both didn’t score very well on Saturday. But we were there to work and not play, so the score didn’t matter. That’s our story and we’re sticking to it!
We did have a great day together and we’ll play better next time for sure! Brandon, thank you for asking me to create your North High School senior portraits and also for the great day hanging out together!
