Light Painting a 1957 C1 Corvette
Today, we have some really cool images from light painting a 1957 C1 Corvette. Nicknamed “Chaos 2”, this wasn’t the first time that I’ve light painted this beautiful vehicle. Last fall, I posted the story about meeting the owner of the car, Jean, at Cars and Caves at the Chanhassen AutoPlex in Chanhassen, MN. Then just a few days later, I created this stunning light painting right in her beautiful backyard.
’57 C1 Corvette Take Two
Recently, Joannie & I spent an evening with Jean in her wonderful “she shed” where “Chaos 2” now resides in style. And, Chaos 2 has a new “roommate” as well, which we will talk about in another post very soon! I really wanted to create more unique images of this fabulous car, and Jean was gracious enough to let me have another go at it.
This time, we light painted the interior and the cool front end of this little beauty. I did the same with Chaos 2’s new roommate too. Again, you’ll have to wait for that surprise coming your way soon. We also light painted both “roomies” together as well. Ok, enough teasing.
Light Painting the Interior
The interior of this restored Corvette is really well done (as is the rest of the car)! We selected an angle that Jean liked, and Joannie and I went at it. In all of my prior vehicle light paintings, I always light painted the entire car and the entire scene around it. Being able to highlight areas in much more detail was really fun to do. And the final results turned out pretty cool as well!
Light Painting the Front End of a ’57 Corvette
The body style of that generation of Corvettes is nothing short of amazing! I just love the lines of these hot cars from the ’50s and early ’60s. The front end styles alone scream “I’m really fast”!
Here’s the before and after light paintings of “Chaos 2’s” beautiful front end, including two different light painted versions. One in total darkness and the other with Jean’s cool she shed all light painted as well!
We also have a short build video on our YouTube channel as well, and that link is below. Thank you for reading our post and have a great day! – M&J
