Wedding Photography At The Graves 601 Hotel

As we mentioned yesterday, Joannie and I had the pleasure of creating the wedding photography at the Graves 601 Hotel for for Amy and Justin last Saturday in downtown Minneapolis, MN.

I’ve had lots of fun with Amy and Justin in the months leading up to their wedding, creating their engagement portraits at Minnehaha Falls with their dog “Quattro” and an additional engagement session at Justin’s shop and his sweet ride that you can see in our Engagement Portrait Gallery.

The Graves 601 Hotel has some very interesting design touches sprinkled throughout this beautiful building making it a great place for wedding photography. The ballroom has two back-lit blue glass walls at each end and is wrapped in rich Paldao wood which is complimented by multi level light boxes within each unique glass design. Amy and Justin took that up a few notches with cool uplighting that changed throughout the evening. Very Nice.

Part Two of this wedding highlight music video begins where Part One left off; more of the crazy wedding party having fun at the Graves 601. Then we have the reason we were all together in the first place; Amy and Justin’s wedding ceremony. Short and sweet would pretty much describe it.

After the ceremony, Terrie Bulanek and her staff at the Graves 601 started readying the ballroom for dinner and the dance. We had the wedding party gathered at Cosmos Restaurant to watch the marriage license get signed, and then we took off by foot to check out downtown Minneapolis. A quick stop to pose with a bike taxi and we were on our way for a few quick photo ops in the close vicinity of the hotel. We even went “shopping!”

Well, not really, but it begs for a little history. We made a quick stop at the Len Druskin Outlet store. The story here is that while working at a Len Druskin store they met each other for the first time in front of one of the dressing rooms! You just never know who you’re going to meet and when?

Well, that was enough fun away from the hotel and all the partying, so it was time to head back for the Grand March, reception and dance.

Thank you Amy and Justin for asking Joannie and myself to create your wedding photography for you. We had a fun day with you two, your families and friends. We look forward to showing you the rest of your awesome wedding photographs when you return from your Hawaiian honeymoon! Aloha!
