Some of our favorite photographs from Andy & Laura’s beautiful St. Joseph the Worker wedding & Minneapolis Marriott Northwest reception on October 3rd!
The second of four weddings in just eight days; Andy & Laura’s St. Joseph the Worker wedding was yet another incredibly fun wedding to photograph! Like Matt & Rachel’s wedding at Rush Creek Golf Course the day before, this was another very sunny day! But on this day, the wind was much easier on everyone’s hair. It was just a beautiful fall day in Minnesota!
Getting Ready Photos
Andy & Laura’s St. Joseph the Worker wedding day began with everyone arriving and getting ready at the church. Then Joannie & I surprised Laura when she had her first look with her dad in the chapel. She was expecting it to be Andy, but when she came around the corner it was her dad that was waiting to see her! Fun!
A few minutes later Andy had his turn too! Two very memorable wedding moments that Joannie & I got to capture for them. The simple backgrounds and wonderful natural lighting in the chapel were the settings for some wonderful portraits of just the two of them after the first looks too.
Then it was off to the main sanctuary and the formal images of our almost newlyweds along with many family and wedding party photographs too.
Once we had all those important wedding photos captured it was time for their wedding! This was the first time Joannie & I have ever photographed a St. Joseph the Worker wedding and I can tell you that there are very few churches that offer the kind of wonderful natural light that they have at St. Joseph the Worker. It was just wonderful working there.
The lighting was so good that I used our Tamron SP 150-600MM F/5-6.3 Di VC USD lens during the ceremony! I’m loving that lens more and more each time I use it!
Andy & Laura’s wedding ceremony was really pretty. The great readings, a nice message, sweet vows and pretty music all made for a really awesome wedding ceremony. The ceremony was followed by a receiving line right outside of St. Joseph the Worker on this great fall afternoon.
Elm Creek Park Reserve
At the conclusion of the receiving line, we lead the limo & wedding party to Elm Creek Park Reserve to take advantage of the beautiful fall day. There’s one great wedding photograph after another and many of them showing some of the early fall colors that were starting to show at Elm Creek Park Reserve. Even a couple chances to do some infrared wedding photography without Canon 5D Super Color Infrared camera. Sweet!
We finished up at the park and headed off to the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest for a wonderful reception, dinner, and dance. These two have a favorite movie and that’s “Christmas Vacation” starring Chevy Chase. So it’s only fitting to end the day with a fun wedding photo with a moose champagne glass and their wedding rings!
Thank you to Andy & Laura for asking us to be your wedding photographers. We had a blast celebrating your wedding day with you guys! –M&J
