Wedding Photography At Blessed Sacrament Church
Their excellent wedding day started at the beautiful Blessed Sacrament Church in Hibbing, MN. What a pretty church! The wedding party got ready there and Samantha had her “first looks” with both her dad and then with JT in front of the altar at this beautiful church.
This was our first time creating wedding photography in Hibbing, MN, and we thought it was a pretty awesome place for a wedding and wedding photography in general.
As you’ll see in their wedding photography highlight music video, we’ve got family and wedding party photos followed by their beautiful wedding ceremony at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Carey Lake Wedding Photos
After the ceremony, we went to Carey Lake with the whole wedding party to take some fun wedding photos with them by the lake. The weather was more than a bit challenging on this April wedding day. The temperature was in the low 60’s and it was very sunny, but the wind was a real pain in the butt! It made it feel pretty cold outside and it really wreaked havoc with hair, dresses, light stands, etc!

While we did have fun at the lake and we really got some great wedding photos there, we really needed to try and get out of the full sun and gusty winds before the girls turned into ice cubes! I suggested going someplace with train tracks or to a warehouse somewhere and that turned out to be just the ticket.
Wedding Photos At The Warehouse
We headed to downtown Hibbing for some great urban wedding photos with really great natural lighting courtesy of two white houses reflecting the light back at us from across the street.

The wedding photographs we created there are the kind I love to create on any wedding day. I call it “posing with attitude” and these guys really nailed it! Too bad the wind was still giving us the chills. Literally.
The only positive about all that wind was what it did (at times) with Samantha’s veil. It took on a mind of its own and sometimes that was a good thing! The wedding photograph below is a great example of that!

After our warehouse stop, we headed just a few blocks away to the historic Androy Hotel for the wedding reception, dinner, dancing and lots of fun!
Just before the dance began, we took a stroll just down the street to create the wedding photo below. A very cool wedding photograph of our newlyweds with the famous Androy Hotel in the background just after sunset. It was a real traffic stopper.
We actually had cars, including a police squad car stopped to watch. We set our speedlights behind them and even more units in front of JT and Samantha too!
