New Creation Lutheran Church wedding of Mike and Samantha
I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Mike and Samantha at New Creation Lutheran Church in Shakopee, MN.

As has been the trend in 2014, it rained. Not just rain, but it poured for several hours! But that didn’t keep any of us from having a wonderful wedding day with all of Mike and Samantha’s fun-loving family and crazy wedding party!
These guys, both family and wedding party, have turned “photobombing” into an art form!
It started to rain just as I was taking Samantha’s wedding dress outside to photograph it hanging in a cute little tree right outside at New Creation Lutheran Church.
So on to Plan “B.” The stained glass inside the sanctuary at New Creation Lutheran Church.
Their wedding highlight video continues with a few getting ready images and then Mike’s “first look” at his beautiful Samantha right in front of the altar at New Creation Lutheran Church. They exchanged gifts with each other, Mike giving Samantha a pretty necklace and Samantha giving Mike a guitar! Nice!

Because it was really pouring rain at this point of the day, we stayed nice and dry and took all of the family and wedding party formal portraits at the altar. There’s plenty of fun images in there too, especially with the aforementioned “photo bombers” running around at New Creation Lutheran Church!

A Ball And Chain
When I was told that a “ball and chain” were going to be a part of the ceremony, I was more than a little concerned. Photobombing is one thing, but a “ball and chain” in the ceremony?

Well, Pastor Patrick Simmons did a marvelous job tying it into his message and these two were now married! Sweet!
After a run through the bubbles (with most of their wedding guests indoors and some outdoors with umbrellas in the rain), these newlyweds were off to their wedding reception, dinner, and dance at the historic Chanhassen Dinner Theater in Chanhassen, MN.

On our way there we made a stop at Memorial Park near downtown Shakopee, MN for our first outdoor wedding photos of the day. It was only lightly raining at this point, so we went for it! Other than some very large puddles, the park is a really pretty location for photography! There’s even a cameo from some “superheroes” in there too!

The music video concludes with highlights of the reception, dinner, and dance. As I excepted, it was a wonderful and fun evening celebrating with Mike and Samantha!
