My favorite images from Kylie’s high school senior portraits taken in Stillwater, MN last Friday!

Kylie’s session was the second of two great senior portrait sessions I had the privilege to create last Friday afternoon. You can check out Jared’s senior portraits at this link. It was a beautiful spring day, a bit on the sunny side for portrait photography, but a really great day none the less.
For kicks, I used only my Tamron SP 150-600MM F/5-6.3 Di VC USD super telephoto lens for her entire session! I love what it can do to backgrounds with its great compression. It especially came in handy when a friend of theirs brought a 1967 Ford Mustang for us to use as a “prop”!

To use the famous Stillwater Lift Bridge as part of the background, I used the Tamron lens at a bit over 300mm from quite some distance away. It brought the lift bridge and the Stillwater hillside much closer into Kylie’s background, and because it was softly out of focus, Kylie and the 1967 Ford Mustang were the main focus! By the way, that’s a very cool car!
Joannie & I had the pleasure of creating the senior portraits of Kylie’s sister Gina on our North Shore Portrait Weekend last August. Both beautiful locations and great seniors, Kylie got the best from the weatherman though. We had nice days for both girls temperature wise, but Gina’s portraits were taken in near gale force winds up on Lake Superior, while Friday in Stillwater, we had a very gentle breeze.
